Founded in 2009 through the Alameda County Pool of Consumer Champions, Black Men Speak, Inc.
(BMS) emerged as a powerful platform for uplifting African American voices on mental health and
recovery.
In 2012, the Men of Color (MOC) speakers’ bureau was created to broaden this mission, engaging and
supporting men from diverse backgrounds.
Recognizing the need for an inclusive space for women, Women of Color (WOC) was launched, ensuring all voices within communities of color could be heard and celebrated. Together, these platforms continue to drive meaningful conversations, breaking barriers and fostering healing.
